BEGGAR AT THE FEAST
The Buttonhole Bandit is a space age allegory about a latchkey child hurled from her closet into an alien galaxy to navigate her way through fear and loneliness towards freedom and acceptance.
HISTORYThe Buttonhole Bandit, at one time titled Phoebe's Closet, was selected for development at the Sundance Institute Playwrights Lab, and was subsequently produced at the Sundance Children's Theatre, the New Conservatory Theatre of San Francisco, the Northbrook Theatre of Illinois, and South Coast Repertory's Youth Players. The Buttonhole Bandit was a winner of the National Children's Theatre Festival sponsored by the Actors Playhouse of Coral Gables, Florida where it was also produced.
