Lord Velvet Lord Velvet is an original full-length musical. The Royal Goldsmith of the Kingdom of Regalia, surrounded by his chorus of crown jewels, relates the tale of young King Harold who becomes hopelessly smitten with an American tourist named Peter, proposes to make him queen, and throws the kingdom into turmoil: the parliament threatens to resign, the church declares Harold a heretic, the Queen Mother disowns him, and indignant citizens protest. Lord Velvet was inspired by the American fascination with British royalty, a longing for tradition, ritual, and romance as well as the ongoing national debate on the subject of gay marriage GLENN MEHRBACH: RESUME (Pianist, Conductor, Arranger): Glenn wrote the book, music and lyrics for Four Love (Theatre of N.O.T.E.), A Musical Therapy, Portraits and Cabaret Godot (Theater West), music & lyrics for Bum's Rush (Theater of N.O.T.E., Theatre 29), and composed the scores to The Magic Prison: Emily Dickinson in Words and Music (Theater West) and Yearbook: The High School Musical (published by Dramatic Publishing). Glenn composed incidental music for Love Of A Pig (published by Samuel French), The War Brides (International City Theater), for which he received a Drama-Logue Award, A Bronx Tale (91st Street Playhouse, NYC), The American Plan (Tiffany Theater) and Caucasian Chalk Circle (Theatricum Botanicum).
